EDGE Mobile Technologies ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Walk with Mentors mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and authentication credentials. You may also sign in via Apple or Google, in which case we receive the basic profile information those services provide. Authentication is handled by Clerk, a third-party identity provider.
Journal Entries
The core of Walk with Mentors is your personal Bible study entries. Your SOAP journal entries (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer), reading plan progress, tags, and highlights are stored securely in our database hosted on Supabase. This data belongs to you and is only accessible by your authenticated account.
Camera & Photos
Walk with Mentors uses your device camera to scan handwritten journal pages and reading plans. Photos are processed using Azure Document Intelligence for OCR (optical character recognition) to extract text. Scanned images are uploaded to secure cloud storage associated with your account. We do not access your camera or photo library for any other purpose.
Usage Data
We collect basic usage information such as app opens, features used, and error logs to improve the Service. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell your data to advertisers.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the Walk with Mentors service
- To sync your journal entries across devices
- To process scanned journal pages into digital text
- To provide AI-powered mentor conversations based on your journal entries
- To track your reading plan progress and streaks
- To improve the app based on aggregate usage patterns
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Walk with Mentors:
- Clerk — Authentication and user management
- Supabase — Database and file storage
- Azure Document Intelligence — OCR processing for scanned journal pages
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI mentor conversations and content analysis
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Data Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Your journal entries are stored in a secure database with row-level security policies ensuring only your authenticated account can access your data. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as you maintain an active account. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, your journal entries, highlights, and personal data will be permanently removed from our systems.
Children's Privacy
Walk with Mentors is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your journal entries
- Withdraw consent for data processing
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
